Visiting a new church can be pretty awkward. Maybe you’re coming from another church that did things differently or you’ve never been part of a church. Now you’re surrounded by a bunch of people singing songs that you don’t know and praying prayers you’ve never heard. Then, to top it all off, they pass around a basket and ask for money. We get it! We know that visiting a church can be uncomfortable, and we want to make you feel at home. So, here are a few things to know:

• You are welcome here and we're so glad you came. Every one of us has a past and it doesn’t matter where you come from, what you’ve done, or who you’re involved with, you're always welcome.
• Do not feel obligated to give. For those who attend our church regularly, it is an honor to give, but we do not expect it of our guests.
• Relax and enjoy yourself. Hopefully the routines of our Sunday service will be pretty easy to understand, but don’t worry, there’s nothing here to “mess up.”
• Say "hello" to someone. Most likely a bunch of people have already said “hello” to you, but in case they haven’t, step out and introduce yourself. We’d love to get to know you.
• Finally, if you have any questions, please ask!

Our hope is that after getting to know us better, you would become a part of our church family.  We’d love to have you on the journey.

Hello LACC:

We are looking forward to meeting together this Sunday with all of you. This week, we will finish our series Church: Why Bother? We will be reading and studying Matthew 7:1-5. Please join us for worship, giving, scripture reading, teaching, and fellowship.
 

Here are some announcements: 

Mom’s Group- Mom’s Group will meet at LACC on Friday, Sept. 5 at 10 am. Bring a friend and join us for food,  fellowship and a craft. Call or text Marlo with any questions at 816-9267

Starting Next week- We are starting the Tuesday night women’s study. Let Marlo know if you’d like to join, and she will get you a book.  Awana starts Weds. at 6 pm. This week will be registration and family game night.  WOW women’s study starts Thurs. at 10 am.

Church Work Day- We have a couple of church work days on the calendar in September. On Sept 6 we will start at 7 a.m. with a focus on some painting and wood splitting. If available, please bring rollers, brushes, and prep tools (scrapers, wire brushes, sanding blocks, etc.), wood-splitters, chainsaws, earplugs, gloves, and eye protection. The next work day will be the 26th.

LACS Dinner & Auction-The annual Lake Almanor Christian School Auction Dinner will be held Saturday, September 20th with doors opening at 5:00. Ticket sales will be held after church. Tickets can also be  reserved by calling Leslie at the church office at 530 596-4100. Tickets will be $25. Our theme this year is, “Equipping students to be lights to the world!”
 
Baptisms- We will have baptisms after church at the Canyon Dam picnic area on Sept. 14. If you’d like to get baptized, talk to Pastor Matt or email matt@lakechurch.life.

Auction Donations- LACS is accepting donations for the annual auction. They are looking for things like gift items or certificates, business services, vacation opportunities like trips, and home or recreation rentals. If you’d like to donate, contact the school office at 596-4100. Donations can be brought to the church, and please remember to fill out a donation slip (available on the desk in the lobby).

Women’s Senior Study- We have a senior women’s study at Wildwood on Fridays starting September 19. If you’d like to join, call Nita at 258-7322. 

Missions Trip Update- We would like to plan a mission trip to Mexico Caravan Ministries in Tijuana. The date options are Nov., Feb., or April. (we’ll pick one based on interest) If you want to be a part, call or text Elijah at 530-375-0535 and let him know which date you prefer.
